The Free State of Bavaria is promoting the construction of over 1,800 apartments in Bavaria through the EOF programme (income-oriented promotion). Projects with 30 to 85 residential units and a total rental area of 145,000 square metres are being developed at 45 locations. These locations include Sparneck, Schönwald, Rehau, Hof and Wunsiedel. The apartments are reserved exclusively for people who fall within the income brackets specified in the Bavarian Housing Promotion Act. The aim is to create affordable housing for low- and middle-income households, especially in rural areas of Bavaria. Currently, around 60% of the Bavarian population is eligible to receive a housing entitlement certificate for subsidised housing.
